Western Tourist Radio and VCA WA Partnership

Western Tourist Radio (WTR) operates stations in the South West and the associated WA Visitor Information Portal, www.touristradio.com.au . WTR owner Barry Green says that the website, which is dedicated to promoting small tourism related businesses in Perth and regional WA, is fast becoming the main focus for the company.

Barry and wife Dale also own Boronia Farm; www.boroniafarm.com.au at Donnybrook and Barry has been actively involved with the Donnybrook Visitor Centre, Harvest Highway Inc and the Bed and Breakfast, Farmstay Association for ten years, so understands that local visitor centers are the key to regional promotion.

The internet has been a great boon to regional tourism as it is now possible for smaller centers to deliver their message like never before. Barry says that the Donnybrook Visitor Centre website and various pages of the tourist radio website are now the main source of traffic to their Boronia farm website.

The tourist radio website includes pages for many towns which in turn link to local visitor centre websites. Visitors to the site can access these pages via many paths including the map on the home page and noleavenolifewa.com.au

All visitor Centers are invited to review the page pertaining to their town and offer suggested additions. Towns not already included are invited to provide 150 to 200 words about their town and a suitable image as well as advise their website address.

There is no charge for this service provided that the Visitor Centre website includes a link to at least one page of the tourist radio website.

Many of the special interest subpages  ( www.farmstaywest.com.au , www.petfriendlywa.com.au , www.harvesthighway.net.au ) of the tourist radio site rank highly on search engines bringing significant traffic to these pages and the businesses listed on them, some traffic also flows on to the towns that have properties listed under the various categories.

Private businesses can be listed on all relevant pages of the site for just $99.00 per year if they include a link back to a page of the tourist radio site and for $150.00 per year with no reciprocal link.

Businesses that are members of their local Visitor Centre will receive a 10% discount from this rate.
